This Sleepy Woman Hasn't Had Too Many Adventures Lately!

Hola everyone reading!

I haven't written in awhile, and I am sorry for that, if anyone was wanting to read here. My dog died Aug 10th, and it has been a little harder than I thought it would be. He was 14 years old, but very young acting! In the last year he got Diabetes and it was really hard on him. He also went blind (overnight) this year, but adapted so well, and did a great job finding his own way anywhere.

I loved him like family, and after having him for 14yrs, he was my little brother. He died in his sleep at the vet. They initially had to give him lots of phenobarbatal because he was having seisures that wouldn't stop. By the next day, he still was having them in his sleep and died.

I want to write here again, I have been reading a lot, but it was just hard to write anything without losing it. As many of you already know, stress really messes with your Narcolepsy too! I am hanging in there, and I hope that all of you are too. For any of you that pray, please pray for my family and the grief process. We are doing ok, but without God, I dont even want to think about where I would be!

Thanks Mucho!!

This is my dog Leo. :)

I like your blog. I am 47 and was diagnosed with N over 20 years ago. I have tried everything under the sun to stay awake with mediocre results. I finally quit my job as a middle school teacher after being pushed out this year. It's an uphill climb isn't it? Anyhoo, it is affirming to see someone else with this issue posting. Keep it up. I hope there is a cure in our lifetime.

Karl,
Thank you for your comment and visiting my blog. I am so sorry to hear about your struggle. I can relate a little, I lost my job too. I have been trying to find something that would allow me to work, and still be dependable ect. It is really hard sometimes. None of the medicines I have tried have worked much for me either.

Hope you stop back by, and you will be in my prayers!

Go Easy,
Ja

Thanks for writing Ja.
Sorry to hear about you losing your job too. It's frustrating to feel like a round peg in a square world. SS Disability used to look so good to me as I struggled through a day with heavy eyelids. What I didn't take into account was how useless one can feel without a vocation. You must be younger than me and you are a writer. You might consider peace corps. I did it 20 yrs ago and found I did fine despite the N. See you online.
